Welcome to Matanuska Christian School
Welcome to Matanuska Christian School where we strive to create a love for learning in our students. Established over 25 years ago, MCS is centrally located in Palmer, Alaska. We offer outstanding academics through a well-trained staff, enriching on-campus learning with many off-campus experiences, such as ministry work in Guatemala, Model UN conferences, and student leadership training. We embrace community involvement as an essential component in “equipping in heart and deed,” and are involved with the Pioneer’s Nursing home, Angel Tree and Operation Christmas Child outreach, and old-fashioned Christmas caroling through Palmer’s downtown businesses.
Our non-denominational K-4 through 12 school is Biblically based and actively pursues the modeling of good citizenship amongst our staff and students. Our maximum 15:1 student-teacher ratio allows for personal student learning plans and clear communication between parents and staff. Parental involvement is encouraged in the classroom, during special functions, field trip excursions and in our athletic programs.
The MCS high school curriculum specifically meets and exceeds requirements for college-bound students. The rigorous course schedule includes full scientific labs for a range of classes, community-focused government, history, and law classes, interactive French language classes, and with applied basic and upper level math courses, just to name a few.
We also offer personal career and university guidance, help with resume writing and job applications and interviews, academic activities like Model United Nations, mock trials, and science experiments that apply learning to real world situations, and individualized learning plans for home school students seeking extra instruction in more challenging subjects.
